Whats the score with insurers thinking the FD2 is 3 door. ive been on the phone to admiral / adrian flux and both have the fd2 down as being a 3 door. admiral said dont worry as long as the Numberplate/make/model and colour care correct its just how its listed on their database. now im a bit worried as for what to do the prices seem really cheap and im with them now on my car

Although i'm not an expert doesn't the number of doors qualify for differentiating the models..... maybe they think is the same as the FN2. You could possibly check it with Tim from Chris Knott.

Hi tom, get on the phone to your insurance company and tell them to ammend YOUR insurance policy with them for it to read in...(black and white)...that your civic type r is a 4 door saloon.
I had the same issues with mine (swinton) and promptly told them to send me a confirmation that they are insuring a 4 door saloon civic type r...which they did... :-D

On a side note, why do the majority of these specialist insurers not update their databases to include all manner of import cars and specs once they have a relevent newish car on their books...

We'd love to but we have but we have to wait for the association of Bristish insurers to asign an 'ABI' code to the specific vehicle and then wait for the update to come through. This can take an age, if it does happen at all!
