Hi, I'm seabiscuit, some of you guys may know me from the DC2 forum and my short stint on the DC5 forum.

I've previously owned a Civic VTI, ITR DC2 and most recently my ill-fated DC5. I imported my DC5 last year from Torque GT and within 8 months of receiving it I was rear ended at a junction. The car was written off as the wait time for the parts from Japan would have clocked courtesy car charges in excess of £18k.

Sooo... Although I loved the DC5, I've had one now. So now I'm setting my eyes on an FD2. Once all insurances have come through etc and I've added some more wedge, I will be speaking to TGT again to import another :-D

Anything to be aware of? I know about the extremely stiff ride, which I plan to alleviate with Koni Rear Shocks.

Cheers :-D

Also is there any FD2s local to Northants? Only ever seen one or two at trackdays so would like a closer gander :glassesbig:

Welcome.
Not much to look out for regarding the fd2 in comparison to the dc5 you had imported especially if your going with torque GT again, grade 4- 4.5 should get you a tidy car.

Pricing does seem to be rising due to exchange rate etc.

You any preferences regards colour?

If you liked the DC5 you will be ok with the FD2 even more ;) I was in the same boat as you not having even seen one, the FD2 is a good bit better than the Teg.
Yes on the OEM rear dampers they are very unforgiving, i have the Koni's on the softest setting and they change the car altogether.
My Teg and FD2 both came from Torque GT.

Prepared to be impressed :)

I did the Koni damper thing too but was always left wishing I could adjust the fronts too. Ultimately I got Ohlins and I've been so impressed by them I really wished it was the first mod I made. Completely transform an already great car to and new level.

Cheers, guys. Not that concerned with colour. I'm not a massive fan of the silver in photos, or the purple one I saw - I like their rareness it's just a bit too much for me lol. Also i'd prefer not to have a blue one as my DC5 was blue. I would be very content with a white one, or if they come in black or red I'd quite like those aswell. I really need to read up on the available colours lol.

I like the sound of the Ohlins, I just think their price ( £2k if I recall correctly?) Is a fair old wedge to spend on the car from the off. I'm sure they're worth the money though :) .

Cheers for the advice guys, and cheers for any advice I will undoubtedly get in the future :thumb:

I may have a set of Ohlins for sale in the coming months as I've gone and ordered the Modulos for comparison - will keep this forum updated.

You'll like the modulos !

I cant wait to compare the two although I've barely done any miles on the ohlins, I'm just not a fan of solid top hats.
