My fastest lap round Donington 1:58.76



Only my second track day but pretty impressed with myself just need some confidence under braking and maybe some coilovers to improve midcorner performance and I reckon the times will start tumbling

Looking good, wish id have known you were there as id have popped in. Looks a bit quiet there, who was the trackday with and how much as its on my to do list?
 
Ahh rubbish that's a shame! Nah it was well busy! Several Porsches, GTRs, Aston martins, Caterhams and a Ferrari lol I just posted this lap up because it was quiet lap and I got my fastest lap done while I had no traffic.. It was with bookatrack and it was a open pitlane, full day event and with a reserved garage cost me 320 notes!
 
Nice vid, hows the harrys lap timer thing set up? £320 seems steep but it is peak season. Did you take insurance out aswell?
 
It's the Harry lap timers pro for the iPhone 4s so cost me £15 I think and tbh the best £15 I've ever spent! Made the track day experience 100% more fun due to being able to let it get on and do all the work by itself and then getting back to the pits and anilizing your times and where you can improve, if you own a smart phone and wanna record your experience then I can't recommend a better device ;)

As with insurance no I didn't because you don't need it! unless you drive like a helmet it's impossible to crash! if you abide by the rules of the company arranging the track session then it's safer than driving on the road ;)
 
Also £320 was the best price I could find for this time of year but if you can find a better price please let me know ;) :)

Oooooh Yea :rolleyes:I'm not that stupid honest lol well if I can get some new tyres sorted in time I'll put my name down! are there any other fd2s going?
 
What state of tune was your car in on this vid? I did the national circuit in mine running 236 bhp and vredestien road tyres and using harrys lap timer (vid in track chat) and sector times are almost same with you being a few tenths quicker :clap:

My fd2 was running a gruppem, kakimoto cat back and running no map so wasn't running that great to be honest, I should think I was around similar power to yours.. That's kool we were running the same time! What did you think of Donington? I loved it!!
 
loved it also, craner curves are awesome but a bit scary at first. experience was spoilt abit by having a poor geometry set up and tyres not really suited for a hot trackday but still my best track session so far. was easy to pass most accord and civic type r's .
want to get on brands hatch next seems a similar circuit but a bit longer
