To help the people who do not have a FD2 yet and are just getting quotes. Post your insurance company here with any comments you would like to make.

Direct Line quoted me £350

33, 12 years no claims, no points or accidents.

I thought that was very cheap!

That is cheap. I'm surprised the main steam insurers are on the ball so quickly tbh.

Yeah, i've been with them for 11 years though and they have always give me the cheapest quotes on past cars i've had. :D

Agreed Lee, I'm suprised it's on their system so quickly. I would have thought a specialist would be cheaper than a main stream company.

It isn't listed on their website so i phoned them up, took a while to speak to the right peson but got there in the end!

Try explaining an accident involving an uninsured/unregistered car that drove off leaving me injured and police involved to an Indian call centre. Norwich Union gave me 18 months of hell

Norwich Union are shocking. I wouldn't use them personally even if it meant paying a higher premium.

My thoughts exactly!!

I will never use them again after how they treated me. The only insurance company I can praise is Greenlight and I've been with them for 2 years.

Nasty mate!

I think i will avoid Norwich Union then.
To be fair Direct Line are good, somebody crashed into me about 8 years ago and they athourised the repairs within 24 hours!

Anyone had a quote from Sky Insurance yet?
Im with them for the DC5 and paying a decent price and getting good service :D

Direct line quoted me £1250 but couldn't insure me till I had another years NCB. They used the 1.6 Type R (dunno which chassis number) to quote on and said they would ammend it as we moved on. Took a little bit of being on hold. They do provide a very good service when you claim on a fully comp policy though.

As for UK call centres the whole of RBS group has this policy, all the back office work is done in India though.

Dang....
You guys got insurance for cheap but then looking at all of ur ages and how many NCB you guys hav no wonder!!!!!

I'm with footman james, my insurance broker will insurance got it for me at £2290.
I know it sound like a hell of alot but then i'm only 25 with 3yrs NCB.
hopefully it will go down alot after having this car for a year and with 4yrs NCB.

Don't have my car yet (in transit) but the best quote I have is £260 from Sky  :D

Has to be confirmed once I am in a position to give a start date. Also has my wife as a named driver.

And before you start speculating I'm 54 with maximum no claims........should be driving a Hybrid, eh!!!!!!!!

Bloody hell. Thought i did alright at 425 quid with a plan & they were £80 cheaper than Sky. Of course you are more mature than me! Sure they didn`t quote you for the hybrid you should be driving?
